Privacy Policy

01 Information We Collect

None. SafePlate is designed from the ground up to operate without any data collection. The app does not:

• Require an account, login, or registration
• Collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal identifiers
• Track your location or movement
• Use cookies, web beacons, or fingerprinting
• Connect to any server, API, or third-party service during use
• Include analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or telemetry of any kind
• Access your contacts, camera, microphone, or other device sensors

02 Data Stored on Your Device

SafePlate stores a small amount of preference data locally on your device using standard system storage (AsyncStorage). This data includes:

• Theme preference: your selected visual theme (dark, light, or high contrast)
• App language: your preferred language for the app interface
• Card settings: which medical card sections you've chosen to display and your subject selection (e.g., "I", "my child", "my partner")
• Onboarding status: whether you've completed the initial app walkthrough

All of this data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is never transmitted over the internet
• Is not shared with the developer, advertisers, or any third party
• Can be reset at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings

03 Third-Party Services

SafePlate does not integrate with any third-party services. There are no:

• Analytics platforms (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Advertising networks or ad SDKs
• Crash reporting tools (no Sentry, Crashlytics, etc.)
• Social media integrations or share tracking
• Push notification services

The only external dependency is the Google Play Store or Apple App Store for downloading the app itself, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

04 Website

The SafePlate website (safeplate.pushingpixels.at) is a static HTML page. It does not:

• Set any cookies
• Use any analytics or tracking scripts
• Collect any form data

The website is hosted on standard web infrastructure. Your web host may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) as part of normal operations. SafePlate has no access to these logs and does not request or process them.

05 Children's Privacy

SafePlate does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR). Since the app collects zero data, it is safe for use by people of all ages. SafePlate is specifically designed to be used by families, including children with celiac disease.

06 Your Rights (GDPR / DSGVO)

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Since SafePlate collects and processes no personal data whatsoever, these rights are fulfilled by design. There is nothing to access, correct, delete, or port.

07 Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the new version will be posted at safeplate.pushingpixels.at/privacy-policy.html with an updated effective date. Since SafePlate collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
